Expecting Moms

What To Expect...

Okay, so we're sure you have the book, but there are many, many things that you haven't heard.  So we want to share as much as possible so you can get as ready as possible.  However, you will find out, nothing quite prepares you for motherhood!

Secrets from the Girls:

1. Start getting your nursery ready sooner rather than later!  You will have more energy early on and will have an easier time lifting (but not too heavy!), sorting and organizing all the cute things you'll need.  The bigger you get, the harder it is to get off the couch so get it done EARLY if possible and leave the small things for the end!

2. There are many items you'll want to stocked in your nursery BEFORE bringing your baby home from the hospital. Trust us, you'll want these! These are as follows:

Infant Tylenol (Generics are just as good, and dye-free is a good choice to reduce stains!)
Mylicon for Gas
Gripe Water for Gas/Bad Tummy
Thermometer
Orajel and Teething Tablets (you won't need these right away, but it's good to have them on hand when you do need them!)
Desitin

Pacifiers (get 2 or 3 different types- babies like different ones and may not like the ones they give you in the hospital!)
Bottles- (don't spend a fortune on buying a lot of one type- like pacifiers, babies have types they will and won't like)

3.  Baby laundry is different than regular laundry! "Pre-treat, pre-treat, pre-treat!" Their laundry piles up fast and you'll want these on hand:

Spray & Wash or Zout to pre-treat stains (trust us, you'll want to pre-treat everything unless you want a lot of ruined clothing!)
Free & Clear Detergents (there are many types now other than Dreft that you can purchase) in case baby has allergies!

4. Have you car seat installed before heading to the hospital. They won't let you leave if you don't have it properly installed.  Swing by the Fire Department to have them installed or checked.
